Publisher Description

The subway map that moves.

NYC Subway Log is a live map of the New York City Subway - and a stamp book for every station you ride. Watch trains move along the tracks, check when the next one arrives, plan a route, and log the ride when you get there. All 25 services and 475 stations, from the 1 to the Rockaway Park Shuttle, in the trunk colors you already know.

◆ Live
. Trains moving on the map in real time - tap one to follow it
. Next trains at any station, with a full list for the hour ahead
. Directions between any two stations: live predictions where they exist, the published schedule where they don't. Works offline
. Log a planned route as a ride in one tap

◆ Built for
. Riders working through the Subway Challenge
. Anyone curious how much of the system they have actually seen
. New arrivals learning the network one line at a time

◆ What you get
. Every station on every service, in MTA's own line colors
. A stamp book that fills in as you go
. A "line complete" card when you finish a service end to end
. Five-borough progress heatmap
. Photos and notes on any station visit
. Two maps - a real one, and a network view with everything but the subway stripped away
. A rolling stock book, from the R32 Brightliner to the R211
. iCloud sync, free for everyone
. Backup (JSON) and export (CSV)

◆ Past rides count
Log a station you rode ten years ago and pick the date. Segment entry logs a whole stretch at once.

Follow the stretches you rode from above, over satellite imagery and 3D buildings. Underground, you fly over the streets above your ride. Export the flight as a video to share.

◆ Pro (monthly / yearly / lifetime)
. Unlimited favorite lines
. Detailed statistics and the five-borough heatmap
. Watermark-free share cards
. Export your stamps as an A4 PDF stamp book
Browsing lines, logging stations, the stamp book, and iCloud sync are all free.
Monthly and yearly plans auto-renew through your Apple ID unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Lifetime is a one-time purchase.

Version History Added Simplified Chinese. 2.0.1 Oct 5 2.0 — a live subway map.
- Live trains: see trains moving along the tracks on the map and on each line screen, from the MTA's real-time feed. Tap a train for its next stop, or tap Follow to keep it in view.
- Next trains: tap any station to see what's arriving, with a full list for the hour ahead.
- Directions: plan a route between any two stations. It uses live predictions where they exist and the published schedule where they don't, so it also works offline.
- Log a planned route as a ride in one tap.
- Cab View: a card now marks the stretches you skipped, so the flight no longer jumps without warning.
- Fixes for saving exported videos to Photos. 2.0.0 Sep 30 - New: Cab View (beta). Follow the stretches you rode from above, over satellite imagery and 3D buildings — underground, you fly over the streets above your ride.
- Station names appear at the start and the end; you can also stop at each station or loop the flight.
- Export it as a video to share (30 seconds on the free tier; 60 seconds or a 15-second short with Pro).
- Turn 3D buildings on or off — free.
- Reversing the direction and picking a stretch are Pro features.
- Satellite and terrain tiles make this data-heavy, so Wi-Fi is recommended. 1.3.0 Sep 28 - Added a search box to the line list. Type a letter, a number, or a name like “8 Av Express”.
- Search a station name and every line serving it appears under “Via station”.
- Small fixes and improvements. 1.2.1 Sep 8 - Monthly and yearly recap cards: your new stations and completed lines on one card you can share.
- Badges: 42 achievements for stations, lines, trunks, boroughs, distance, cars, and active days — including the 472-station Subway Challenge.
- Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets: progress ring, favorite lines, and your next station at a glance.
- Map improvements: ridden track stays faintly visible in the unridden filter, search understands "42 st" and complex names like Times Sq, and the nearby sheet shows visited status and every line.
- Sending feedback or a suggestion is one tap away in Settings. We read every reply. 1.2.0 Sep 4 - Right after a device transfer or reinstall, ridden segments are now recognized automatically as soon as your iCloud records arrive.
- Backups now include your ridden segments themselves, so restores are more accurate.
- Small fixes and improvements. 1.1.3 Aug 30 - Fixed an issue where ridden segments could stop appearing on the map after a device transfer or reinstall.
- Restoring a backup now also restores your ridden segments — including backups made with earlier versions.
- Made the map screen more responsive. 1.1.2 Aug 29 - Ridden track no longer cuts straight across gaps where there is no track.
- New setting: Don't infer segments. Riding A→B then C→D no longer marks B→C as ridden. Segments you entered before are recovered automatically.
- Added a version history, readable any time from Settings › About. 1.1.1 Aug 24 The map, redrawn.

- Lines now carry MTA's own colours everywhere — the stamp book, completion cards and the PDF, not just the route bullets. The Lexington Av green and the 8 Av blue are the ones you know from the platform.
- Ridden stretches follow the actual track instead of cutting straight between stations, so curves through Queens and over the bridges read true.
- Fixed a line drawing itself twice where its branches share track.
- Stations you have not visited are drawn quieter, so the ones you have come forward.
- Interchanges are drawn a size larger in a neutral colour, instead of taking one line's colour when several run through.
- Opening the map from a line now shows that line alone, with a chip to step back out.
- A line's header now leads with its bullet, the way a rider reads it.
- The A train's stations are back in running order; its Lefferts and Far Rockaway branches no longer zigzag. 1.1.0 Aug 11 Share cards, rebuilt.

- Finish a line and the card is now a station sign: the line's bullet, the two terminals you rode between, and the whole city behind it — every line you've ridden, with your share of NYC on it.
- Station and milestone cards follow the same grammar.
- Add a note, or the car you rode. Pro adds two more card styles.
- Station stamps are ticket cards now, not square seals.
- Stations on the map are white circles, so a ridden line still reads as a line.
- Restored Japanese, Korean and Chinese on the Stamps tab and the station counters. 1.0.1 Aug 8 1.0.0 Aug 5
